Alex Chandler Death – Alex Chandler of Pike County was found dead in a rural location off Jonesboro Road in Union City along with a crashed motorcycle. Wednesday afternoon, a man who was strolling down the street noticed the bike and the body. Authorities believe the victim may be a missing biker from Pike County who has been missing for a few days, while the investigation is still ongoing. Police in Union City verified that the victim had spent some time at the scene of the collision. Walker Chandler, a local attorney, sent out the following email this morning in response to his son’s passing: Kindly, friends Not all of the emails we exchange with one another can be straightforward ones featuring humor, politics, business notes, etc.

Information in details

Some must simply provide news, some of it depressing. One of those is this, Alex, our dearly loved younger son and brother, passed away in a Georgia motorbike crash one week ago today. His body was not recovered, however, until yesterday. We’re told he passed away instantly. You can imagine the misery and speculation that we and his friends went through for several days. Although it is intended for widespread distribution for informational purposes, I cannot personalize it, nor is this the appropriate moment for me to add a lengthy and challenging message.

I am aware that some of you who actually knew and loved Alex but were uninformed of the circumstances leading up to this last week’s events may experience a tremendous shock as a result. While some of you may not have known Alex, we needed to let you know about this tragedy because you are either our friends or his friends. We haven’t decided on a service yet, but we’re planning on having it on Sunday afternoon in October at our former church in Pike County, Friendship Presbyterian. I don’t want to close my message without saying how appreciative we are of all the assistance and support received over the past few days from him, our friends, and the local law officers. When we send this out, we are thinking lovingly of him and of y’all. Walker
