A severe fire occurred, and Madrid stated that it is likely that she will be unable to operate her business for a number of months. She stated that on Saturday morning, she received a phone call from her best friend, who informed her that her store was on fire and that she needed to head down there immediately. Madrid stated that upon her arrival, she was shocked to see what remained of the company that she had founded ten years prior.

She stated that she moved her store to the northwest area of Albuquerque from Downtown Albuquerque in the month of December. She made her purchase of inventory a week ago, spending $8,000 in total. As a result of this tragic fire, seven people are now without jobs, which has led to the establishment of a GoFundMe page to assist these individuals in regaining their financial footing.
