Agnes Dupriest Death, Obituary – Agnes Dupriest, 91, was driving a Ford Edge eastbound on Jesse Jewell Parkway at about 9:21 a.m., according to Gainesville Police Corporal Jessica Van.
Authorities say a Gainesville woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Jesse Jewell Parkway on Saturday.
Dylan Cheek, 29, of Gainesville, was driving a Honda CR-V that was stopped at a traffic light on Bradford Street, waiting to turn left onto Jesse Jewell Parkway westbound. When the light on Bradford Street turned green, Cheek attempted to make the turn, but was hit by Dupriest in the intersection.
According to accesswdun.com, At the time of the crash, Dupriest was apparently not wearing her seatbelt. Prior to the collision, both front seat headrests of Dupriest’s vehicle were not attached, according to Cpl. Van. At a local hospital, Dupriest was pronounced dead.
Cheek and his passenger were only slightly hurt and were not brought to the hospital. As of Thursday afternoon, Cpl. Van said the crash was still being investigated. Until the inquiry was completed, police were unable to make any statements about who was at fault in the accident.
