Active shooter in Fort Irwin California today – Authorities are responding to the scene of a possible active shooter threat at Fort Irwin, CA in the vicinity of the 24 hr Shoppette. Responding officers are currently investigating the vicinity. Officers urge the public to take please take necessary self-protection measures. SNBC is currently working to gather further information. No injuries as been reported. Commanding General of the National Training Center and Fort Irwin explained on Twitter on Tuesday, June 5, 2022, that they are aware of a recent report of a threat situation that occurred at the 24-hour Shoppette on the post. CSM Haydt and other officers are currently on location.
They further assured the public that everyone and everything is safe here, and that MPS are thoroughly examining any and all threats. Following investigating, officers revealed no active shooter was found at the NTC/ Fort Irwin. They further stated that here have been no findings of a credible threat. Authorities are investigating to determine the circumstances surrounding the threat situation. SNBC13 will provide further information when it becomes available.

** Lorenzo Perez shot and killed in north Oak Cliff**
Authorities identified the victim killed following a fatal shooting as 21-year-old Lorenzo Perez. A man identified as Andres Ramirez, 25 was arrested Thursday in connection with the fatal shooting of Lorenzo who died at a hospital last week. At approximately 11:40 p.m. on Wednesday, authorities were dispatched to the Methodist Dallas Medical Center in north Oak Cliff. This is the location where Perez was dropped off by two men, who then fled. Those men struck a Methodist police officer with the door of their vehicle, causing minor injuries. Perez was pronounced dead shortly after they arrived at the hospital. Investigation is ongoing.
