Accident on I-294 Today – There was a serious accident on Sunday, 11th of September 2022 on the I-294 Southbound route. Reports states that the crash happened at 75th St (Willow Springs Rd) to MP 21.9. The news about the accident was confirmed in a Twitter post made on the 11th of September 2022 by Tollway Trip 94/294. Traffic authorities said two right lanes was initially blocked out of four.
Interstate 294 (I-294) is a tolled auxiliary Interstate Highway in northeastern Illinois. It forms the southern portion of the Tri-State Tollway in Illinois. I-294 runs from South Holland at I-80/I-94, and Illinois Route 394 (IL 394) to Northbrook at I-94. The route serves as a bypass around the city of Chicago. Reports states that I-294 is also the longest auxiliary route of I-94, at 10 miles (16 km) longer than I-494 in Minneapolis–Saint Paul. In addition the tollway is the longest auxiliary Interstate Highway in Illinois, and it intersects the most primary interstate highways at six, reports disclosed.

The police said one woman was killed in a tragic vehicle accident in Mason County this weekend. According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, just before noon on Sunday, 11th of August 2022, emergency crews were called to a 2-vehicle crash that happened on U.S. 31 at Johnson Road in Amber Township. Initially, authorities said a blue Ford was traveling southbound on U.S. 31 when a silver minivan, traveling eastbound on Johnson Road, failed to stop for the stop sign.
Reports state that the silver minivan entered the intersection and was struck in the driver side, pinning the driver in the van. a 36-year-old Mason County woman identified as the driver of the minivan was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said another 19-year-old female passenger in the minivan, also from Mason County was injuries, as did all three occupants in the other vehicle.
The driver of the Ford and his two passengers are from Wisconsin. The crash remains under investigation. Police said this is the second fatal crash in Mason County this weekend.
