Following a nocturnal incident on Interstate 5 in Carlsbad that left one person dead and many others injured early Wednesday morning, an Oceanside man is facing multiple charges.
According to 10news.com, Isidrone Martinez, 20, of Oceanside, has been charged with felony DUI in the death of another Oceanside man, who was also 20 years old.
Around 2:40 a.m., a deadly crash occurred on I-5 northbound, just south of La Costa Avenue. Martinez was driving a grey Honda Civic with two 20-year-old Oceanside men, a 20-year-old Oceanside woman, and a 22-year-old Valley Center woman, according to California Highway Patrol.
Martinez allegedly swerved to the right across a Caltrans construction zone with a hard closure in place, shutting down the #3 and #4 northbound lanes, for reasons that are currently under investigation, according to CHP.
