Accident Death: TikToker Has Passed Away, What happened to Logan Foster?: After obtaining sufficient evidence, a grand jury in Henry County has decided to file charges against a husband and wife who are believed to have killed their special needs son and frozen his body. Michael Shane Halstead, 44, and his wife Karen Tysinger Halstead, 43, were charged with two counts each of careless manslaughter and killing a corpse at the beginning of May.
The claims state that the Halstead family is responsible for the death of 19-year-old Logan Michael Halstead, a child with special needs. According to the indictments, after Logan passed away unexpectedly, his parents wrapped his corpse in blankets and plastic bags and put it inside a freezer. In late October of 2023, the Halsteads had lawfully rented a Headland trailer; in the backyard of that trailer, both the freezer and the body were discovered.
According to Sheriff Eric Blankenship, Logan Halstead’s body was most likely placed in the freezer at the end of August 2023, as WDHN reported. Not too long afterward, the Halstead family moved from Headland to Jack, Alabama. The body was discovered by the new renters when they were tidying the apartment.
Logan was diagnosed with spinal bifida by his investigators. Court filings state that further investigation yielded sufficient proof to accuse the Halsteads of reckless manslaughter. Originally, the Halsteads were only charged with mistreating a corpse; however, more counts were added. Karen Halstead will appear in court on July 12 and Michael Halstead on June 17, respectively. While they were both incarcerated in the Henry County Jail, they had become friends.
