Abbott Mumaw, of Wamego, KS. died on Friday March 31, 2023, following a deadly accident, according to his family. The death of the son and friend to many, has left many heartbroken. The family of Abbott has created a GoFundMe Account for those who may wish to contribute towards his funeral. “Abbott had his last ride on Friday, March 31 when an accident claimed his life. Abbott was a junior at Wamego High School.”
Abbott was a student of the Wamego High School located in the area of 801 Lincoln Ave, Wamego, KS. A message on the GoFundMe Account reads; “Abbott Mumaw was an adventurous young man who loved riding his dirt bike and had an affinity for old square body trucks. Abbott had his last ride on Friday, March 31 when an accident claimed his life.”
“Abbott was a junior at Wamego High School and was the proud brother of Morgan (his younger sister), and Isaac (his older brother). Abbott’s mom, Megan TenEyck is faced with the unexpected expenses of laying her son to rest. Life has provided an uphill climb for Megan, but it’s one that she has always conquered with strength and perseverance. Let’s come together and help ease this burden for Megan as she is finding her way through this extremely difficult time.”

A hit-and-run accident that occurred on the side of an expressway in the Kansas City region left a motorcyclist with critical injuries, and he was taken to a local hospital. The Kansas Highway Patrol Accident Log says that emergency services were sent to the mile marker 0.7 on westbound I-670 on Saturday, April 1, approximately 10:45 p.m. with reports of a hit-and-run. This location is less than a mile inside the state line. When the authorities arrived, they reported finding a 2007 Harley Davidson FLH Series being driven eastbound on the interstate by a man named Dennis A. Baker, who was 53 years old and from Independence, Missouri.
The Kentucky Highway Patrol did note that an unidentified car was the cause of Baker losing control of his motorcycle and crashing into the inside wall of the median barrier. According to the officials, the second vehicle fled the scene before the emergency crews arrived. Baker was sent to St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment of what were likely to be serious injuries. At the moment of the accident, he was protecting his head with a helmet.
