Old mills high school lockdown today – An investigation into a threat that was delivered to the high school this morning has prompted the other two schools in the Old Mill campus to go into lockdown. Every single pupil is secure within their respective classrooms. When the building is on lockdown, no one is permitted to enter or exit the premises. Parents are not permitted to pick up their children at school under any circumstances. In order to find a solution to this problem, the school, the school system, and the Police Department are all working together.
The Rippling Woods Elementary School and the Ruth Parker Eason School have both been placed in a “shelter-in-place” condition as an additional safety measure. Every single student at both campuses is protected from harm. Nobody is allowed to go in or out of the building. Parents are not permitted to pick up their children at school under any circumstances. Following a shooting in Anne Arundel County, five schools were instructed to take immediate cover within the building. Officers from the county police department were reportedly summoned to a shooting in the 400 block of Glen Mar Road in Glen Burnie, which is located off of Phoebe Road. There, a person had been shot.

Since then, the order to remain indoors and take cover has been rescinded, and schools have returned to their regularly scheduled operations. A message that was published on Thursday, April 13th, 2023 by the Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) following the incident. Around one o’clock in the afternoon, officers from the Glen Burnie Police Department responded to the 400 block of Glen Mar Road and Phirne Road. It was determined that one of the victims had died. The suspect was said to be black and dressed in dark attire.
