A three-vehicle crash in Davenport Monday night at 46th Street and Welcome Way, sent at least two individuals to the hospital, including a Scott County 911 operator.
Sheriff Tim Lane of Scott County stated one of the victims was a 911 dispatcher from the Scott Emergency Communications Center. Lane said the dispatcher was traveling on 46th Street with a passenger and crossing Welcome Way with a pickup truck driver when a white car heading south on Welcome Way ran a red light. Lori Lane reported the driver that ran the red light escaped on foot
At 50th Street and Welcome Way, police closed the route and diverted traffic. Motorists were warned to avoid the area.
Three highly damaged vehicles were visible at the scene, with debris strewn about. The 911 dispatcher’s car was wrecked and parked near the front entrance of Express Employment Professionals on the southwest corner of the intersection.
Davenport police were still investigating the crash’s causes and circumstances. while the victims are being reated.
