Antonio Lee Mayes, 32, of Pontiac, was shot and killed at the Phoenix Place Apartments on Monday, Feb. 7. Stanford Clirteese Sharp Jr., 18, has been charged.
After being accused with the murder of his girlfriend’s uncle, an 18-year-old Pontiac man was booked into Oakland County Jail.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, Mayes was discovered dead in the bedroom of his mother’s apartment.
Mayes’ sister informed the sheriff’s office on Feb. 8 that her daughter’s boyfriend had shot her.

Mayes’ mother reported deputies that her 17-year-old granddaughter’s boyfriend, Sharp, had shot her son. Mayes’ torso was shot numerous times, and expended round shells were discovered on the floor outside the bedroom.
Sharp surrendered to authorities on Wednesday. He is scheduled to appear in court for a pretrial session on Tuesday, February 22.
Sharp is charged with open murder as well as possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
