1 Severely Hurt Following Motorcycle Accident In Southington: Southington, CT – A serious motorcycle crash Sunday night has left one man with significant injuries. According to the Southington Police Department, officers were dispatched to the scene following reports of a crash involving a motorcycle at approximately 10:45 p.m. at the intersection of South Main Street and Mulberry Street.
Upon arrival, an investigation revealed that a 66-year-old man was driving a 2003 Yamaha XVS1100 motorcycle when it collided with a 2013 Nissan Xterra. The collision occurred as the Nissan was making a turn onto the on-ramp of I-84 Eastbound. The driver of the motorcycle sustained serious injuries and was promptly transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. His current condition remains undisclosed. The driver of the Nissan, identified as a 34-year-old man, fortunately, did not sustain any injuries in the crash.
Following the incident, the I-84 Eastbound Exit 29 on-ramp was temporarily closed to allow emergency services to respond and conduct an investigation. The on-ramp has since been reopened to traffic.
